New clients and partners — startups participating in StartUp Kazakhstan summed up the results

Tech Garden Held Final Demo Day for Startups

Demo Day for startups participating in the third wave of the Startup Kazakhstan program. The teams talked about the results of the three-month acceleration, their successes and new partners.

The acceleration program of the third set of the StartUp Kazakhstan program was launched in May. The training is now complete. Based on the results of the “pumping”, the teams receive funding for the further development of their product in Kazakhstan. The main task of working with teams is to integrate their developments into the real sector of the economy of Kazakhstan. In his welcoming speech, the first head of the fund, Askar Sembin, told the program participants about the new tasks set by the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Tech Garden in the framework of the digital transformation of enterprises and the industrial and innovative development of Kazakhstan.

“We are moving to a new level — from creating a critical mass of startups to their implementation in the country’s industry to bring enterprises to the level of Industry 4.0. Using the capabilities of the created Tech Garden Competence Centers: Industrial Artificial Intelligence, New Materials and Additive Technologies, Digitalization of Construction. will become the Tech Garden profile laboratories, which already have unique developments and experience in integrating the most progressive ideas and technologies into the industry, “said Askar Sembin, General Director of the Tech Garden Autonomous Cluster Fund.

This time, the program includes several projects that offer solutions to practical problems for industrial enterprises.

Among them is the Smart LR team, who created the “Digital Lining of Industrial Units” technology. It is intended for cement manufacturers and metallurgy enterprises and replaces the manual method of performing lining work with a robotic one. This allows you to reduce the time for the downtime of technological equipment, reduce the cost of repairs, and, as a result, increase production and ensure the growth of revenue and profits.

An interesting solution for enterprises with a large fleet of special equipment is offered by the Partszone team. Online logbook allows you to take into account the operation of machines in terms of technical and operational parameters, repair, service life of spare parts. Data on each excavator, bulldozer, dump truck or combine will be automatically entered into the documentation, preventing unexpected breakdowns, rationally distributing the operating time of the equipment. It is a convenient solution for companies involved in agriculture, road and highway construction, rental of construction equipment with an operator, mining industry.

Developed by the CleanRoad team, built-in heated pavements and pavements are already gaining acceptance in the construction industry. The system improves the cost efficiency of snow removal, construction and maintenance of road infrastructure. “Acceleration is great. We adjusted our business model and found a client who already orders from us in a week what we used to sell in a month! Second, we have found new sales markets. In Almaty and Astana, we plan to begin construction of the first facilities by the end of the year. And third, we met wonderful people, and this is probably one of the main advantages of the program, “said the founder of the startup Anton Gochachko.

IT solutions for the convenience of residents of large cities are also becoming more and more popular.

The Smart Resident team has created and is successfully implementing the Smart Resident platform. It unites all parties involved in housing and communal services, from residents and tenants of residential real estate to state and regional authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The system consists of a cloud solution and a number of integrated mobile applications for residents and masters of management companies.

Applications for the third wave of the StartUp Kazakhstan acceleration program were accepted in September-December 2018. About 500 applications were received from ten countries. This time the geography of the project covered Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Poland and Norway. The teams presented new solutions in such industries as e-commerce, education, financial technology, Industry 4.0, smart city, telecommunications. Experts have selected 26 best offers.

The first and second waves of the StartUp Kazakhstan program took place in 2018. More than 2 thousand startups from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria, Poland, and the USA have applied for participation in it. As a result of a careful expert selection, 69 startups (30 from Kazakhstan and 39 from the CIS countries) underwent acceleration. In 2018, startups created 250 jobs. All projects showed results, some gave an increase of 200-300%. There are companies that, with ideas developed here, went to Singapore, Malaysia, and now they are entering the US markets, European markets.

The total amount of funding for teams that passed through StartUp Kazakhstan for three recruits amounted to $ 2.6 million.

The international acceleration program StartUp Kazakhstan is implemented by ACF Tech Garden under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
