IntelliSense-LAB presented at Astana Mining & Metallurgy production using artificial intelligence based on JSC “AK Altynalmas”

Within the framework of the mining and metallurgical congress, the results of the implementation of the artificial intelligence platform Brains.app were presented

The IntelliSense-LAB Technology Center, which implements industrial artificial intelligence, announced today at the Astana Mining & Metallurgy International Mining and Metallurgical Congress the results of the implementation of the brains.app artificial intelligence (AI) platform to optimize the grinding scheme based on the Aktogay gold-mining plant of AK Altynalmas JSC“.

The Aktogay gold recovery plant is the first model production in Kazakhstan, where the use of artificial intelligence technologies makes it possible to predict the level of ball loading and wear of internal linings, and also prevents overloading of the mill complex, which leads to an increase in the transparency of the process and a decrease in mill downtime.

The Center for Technological Development “Intellisense-LAB” was created by the Autonomous Cluster Fund Tech Garden together with the English company IntelliSense.io with the aim of introducing Industry 4.0 at the enterprises of Kazakhstan. The work is carried out within the framework of the implementation of the tasks set by the MIID RK for the ACF Tech Garden to modernize the country’s industrial sector.

JSC “AK Altynalmas” is one of the seven model factories selected by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to demonstrate the benefits of this technology for the entire mining and metallurgical industry.

“The breakthrough use of artificial intelligence within the brains.app platform should become a benchmark for our activities and allow our employees to make the work of the factory transparent, predictable and reduce emergency downtime, which should lead to the maximum benefit from the Aktogay gold processing plant,” said Zhanar Amanzholova , Vice President for IT and Corporate Development of AK Altynalmas JSC, Head of the Digital Mine project. Zhanar Amanzholova also noted that “at present we are piloting, and in the future, in accordance with the results obtained, we are planning to introduce the technology in other technological processes in order to optimize the technology at the Aktogay production site.”

“Our key goals for the Intellisense team were: reducing mill shutdowns, reducing mill overload frequency, predicting liner wear and managing wear in the grinding cycle. Thanks to AI capabilities using predictive analysis, we expect real-time insight into ball loading and liner availability in the grinding cycle, which should lead to fewer downtime. As a result, according to our calculations, the cumulative economic effect from the implementation of the system should justify the cost of investments in this project in a short time, “explains Daryn Munsyzbayev, head of the subproject of JSC AK Altynalmas.

“We would like to express our gratitude to our partners — AK Altynalmas JSC for the provided platform for the implementation of such a large-scale project in the field of mining and smelting in Kazakhstan. JSC “AK Altynalmas” is one of the most advanced companies in our country, and is open to the introduction of new technologies. The results of our cooperation presented in the framework of AMM are an example for other enterprises in the industry in terms of the effects of using AI in the mining and metallurgical complex, “added Andrey Tyan, Director of the Center for Technological Development” Intellisense-LAB “.
