The Digital Mine project ensured uninterrupted operation of production during a pandemic

Digitalization projects have not only economic, but also social effects.

So, thanks to the measures implemented under the Digital Mine program of AK Altynalmas with the participation of Huawei, it was possible not only to create an IT infrastructure for production, but also to provide high-speed Internet to remote settlements of the republic during a pandemic.

Digital Mine is one of the flagship projects for the digitalization of industry in Kazakhstan. Its importance has been repeatedly mentioned at the government level. The project has been implemented in pilot mode since 2017 by one of the leading companies in the production of gold in the republic, JSC AK Altynalmas. The task of the project is to create a state-of-the-art technological field, where the production cycle and all business processes will be fully digitized. However, in order to launch this mechanism, first of all, it was necessary to create a network infrastructure provided with a stable, fiber-optic Internet. Indeed, for the well-coordinated operation of the dispatching system, the Internet of things at production sites, high-speed Wi-Fi coverage is needed. That is why Huawei has become one of the key partners of the project.
