How artificial intelligence is helping production

The Kazakhstani mining sector continues to apply new technologies.

In Kazakhstan, they began to talk about the possibility of using artificial intelligence in industry more than three years ago. In 2019, during the implementation of the updated digitalization strategy of JSC AK Altynalmas, the launch of the Digital Mine project was announced. The project, which was launched by Elbasy, made it possible to automate the entire production cycle — from geological exploration to mining (open and closed), from modeling reserves, planning work and transportation — to processing and release of finished products. In turn, this will reduce operating costs by 15-20%, speed up and qualitatively improve the decision-making process, and increase production safety.
