Artificial Intelligence Startups Solve One of the Mining's Oldest Challenges

In a small town near Lake Balkhash, a Kazakh gold mine relies on artificial intelligence to predict when a concentrator is about to be overloaded.

AK Altynalmas JSC is partnering with British technology startup Intellisense.io, whose software uses factory-installed sensors to simulate the grinding process and identify problems before they occur. This is gaining in value as the company mines ore with a lower gold grade, which puts additional pressure on its technological process.
